Description:

This is a very good example of a late production Harrington & Richardson Reising Model 50 fully automatic SMG. This model of SMG saw some limited used in the early days of the WWII Pacific campaign by the United States Marines as a substitute for the M1 Thompson. They were more widely used as defensive weapons for war-essential industries and then later after WWII in the hands of law enforcement agencies. The top of the receiver has the three-line Harrington-Richardson factory markings, with the fire control on the rear right side, followed by the very late serial number of "107717". The short 11 inch barrel that is fitted with a combination flash hider/muzzle break with 14 cooling fins on the barrel. It has a blade front and a stamped, sheet metal four position adjustable rear sight. The breech end of the barrel is stamped with "2/PM" indicating the barrel was proofed fired and checked during assembly. It is fitted with a one-piece, walnut buttstock with a stamped sheet metal buttplate and a set of sling swivels attached to the underside of the stock. It has a unique cocking mechanism, which is actually a large hole on the underside forend where the cocking lever is located. You just reach in with your finger and cock the bolt and your ready to fire. This weapon includes one original Reising marked Model 50 20 round stick magazine with an original Harrington & Richardson/Reising manual.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 97% plus of the original light gray parkerized finish overall with clear sharp markings and proofs. The stock is also in excellent condition with a nice original medium brown colored walnut buttstock showing only minor handling marks and light scratches on the sides in various areas. NOTE: This item is restricted as a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
