Wilson Arms Inc MKII Fully Automatic Class III/NFA Transferable 9 mm Submachine Gun

This is a good looking recreation of a desirable Sterling Arms MKII submachine gun that was manufactured using a set of Sterling parts combined with a new tube receiver manufactured by Wilson Arms Inc. The original Patchett design was an improved and updated version of the original WWII British STEN submachine. It was eventually manufactured by the Sterling Arms company in England as the model L.2A.1 with subsequent upgrades to the .2 and .3 models. They were used successfully by the British Army from the mid 1950s to the end of the 1960s when it was replaced by the MK MP5. This example is a recreation of the later L.2A.3 model that has the reinforced folding stock with the three position selector and the two position rear sight graduated for 100 and 200 yards. It has a one-piece perforated receiver tube with the unique side mounted magazine well with the bayonet lug on the front left side of the receiver The most interesting design of this SMG is that the bolt has raised, radial flutes on the sides that actually help remove any powder fouling that accumulates during firing. It still uses a 30 round magazine that feeds from the left side; however, the magazine has roller-designed follower to aid in loading the magazine instead of the old flat stamped metal design. It has an all black crackle type finish, with the underside marked "WILSON ARMS CO.'BRUNSWICK GA.'MKII HF-527". The top of the magazine well still retains its original markings of: STERLING/SMG/ 9 MM MK4/ No.KR 132476. It is complete with one 30 round magazine.

ConditionVery fine as remanufactured with 98% of the refinished, black crackle type finish with only very minor edge and high spot wear. The markings are clear and sharp. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
