Description:

Offered here is a Ford Motor Company built prototype that would lead to the M151, M151A1, and M151A2, the last series of Jeeps in U.S. military service. In March 1951, Ford was awarded a contract to design a replacement for the M38A1 Jeep. The first prototypes, initially known as the XM151, were built from 1952 to 1954. Very few were produced. In fact, this XM151 is believed to be the only one of its type in existence. The vehicle is equipped with a straight-four engine, hard top, and doors. The M151 design marked a substantial departure from previous Jeep models, and production of the M151 series began in 1959 and lasted until 1978; first built by Ford, then Kaiser, and eventually AM General. Consignor research is included.

Rating Definition:

An older restoration with good body and paint. The engine does run. The interior needs work. Will make for a great restoration project for those who want to be challenged! A survivor from the iconic Jeep legacy.
