Description:

Manufactured in China at Factory #26, this Type 56 Carbine comes with paperwork documenting it as the privately owned weapon of one Staff Sergeant William Neissl in February of 1970. Then stationed at Camp Hauge in Okinawa, a transit facility for men going to and from Vietnam, the paperwork was filed via the Provost Marshal at Camp Smedley Butler in San Francisco. Information on Neissl indicates that he hailed from the area of Walla Walla in Washington, and that he later retired at the rank of First Sergeant. While not explicitly documented as a Vietnam trophy, the timeframe and location certainly imply Vietnam as the most likely point of acquisition. Post and tangent sights, with a folding spike bayonet, standard receiver markings, a matching numbered stock, metal muzzle protector and a canvas sling.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 70% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, scattered spotting, edge wear and handling marks. A few patches of deeper pitting are present on the barrel. The stock is fine, showing evidence of refinish, as is often seen on documented Vietnam-used SKS carbines, as well and scattered scuffing and dents. Mechanically excellent.
