Description:

Constructed from black wool, with a one-piece trapezoidal eagle/cockade patch on the front, functional chinstrap with two black enamel finished steel buttons, and a gray rayon inner lining, stamped "56 F. 42" and "RBNr./0/0550/5672" inside the crowns. This cap can be seen on page 260 (color plate 1.28) of the book "Field Uniforms of German Army Panzer Forces in World War 2" by Pruett and Edwards.

Excellent, with some minor wear overall and minor staining concentrated on the interior.
