Description:

Printed on herringbone twill cloth, this smock is reversible, with one side rendered in "Splittermuster 41" spring/summer pattern, with a mix of brown, green and tan shapes broken up by green lines, and the reverse in plain white, suitable for use in dense snow. Neck closure is via drawstring, with a "2" stamped on the winter side of the collar, ventilated armpits, alloy cuff buttons with closure straps, drawstring adjustable waist, and a set of chest flaps for accessing belts and pockets concealed by the smock. Notes provided by the consignor attribute the smock to the collection of George Petersen, who in turn acquired it in Russia c. 1991.
