Excellent Civil War U.S. Contract Rogers & Spencer Army Model Percussion Revolver

5,000 of the estimated 5,800 Rogers & Spencer Army revolvers were manufactured under contract for the U.S. Government in early 1865 and were arguable one of the best revolver designs of the period, but they were delivered too late to see use in the Civil War and were later sold as surplus arms. This example has the standard markings and features, including "B" sub-inspection marks throughout and the "RPB" cartouche of inspector Captain R. P. Barry is on the left grip.

ConditionExcellent overall with 95% bright original high polish blue finish, some flakes/dings visible on one side of the cylinder,98% original case colors on the lever and hammer, small chip at the heel of the otherwise excellent right grip, and some light dings from storage. Mechanically excellent.
