Unique Aitor Brand "El Montero" Combat Knife with Panama Military Markings and Sheath Documented as a Veteran Trophy from Operation Just Cause with Special Forces Attribution

Manufactured in Spain, this combat knife measures 13 1/2 inches in overall length with a 8 5/8 inch clip point blade with a prominent belly to the leading edge, 3 3/4 inch long sharp false edge, and 3 1/4 inches of serration on the spine. The left side bears the crest and markings of the Panamanian Defense Forces post-1968 and maker and model markings. The guard and pommel are brass, with stag head decoration and lanyard hole in the latter, and checkered one-piece plastic grip. With a brown leather sheath. As with the previous lot, this weapon was among the trophies claimed by Sergeant Eric Dziekan of the 59th Engineer Company during Operation Just Cause. The War Trophy Authorization Form lists it as a "PDF Memorial Knife 9"". A printout of a text conversation (parties unidentified, incomplete translation) mentions an American-trained former PDF major who attested that the knife was of the pattern used by Panamanian special forces units. An included booklet on PDF unit patches includes a Commandos patch that prominently features a knife of similar profile.

ConditionExcellent, with some light edge wear, scuffing, and handling marks. The PDF booklet shows some light stains.
