Description:

It features an H.E. Leman back action lock, holes for a four prong false muzzle, an empty front sight dovetail, "L.N. MOGG/MARCELLUS. N.Y." marked scope, plain trigger, pewter forend cap, and German silver furniture. A bullet is in the patch box. L.N. Mogg was active in the late 19th and early 20th century as a marksman and scope maker among other business interests. Advertisements and raving reviews for his scopes were found from 1900-1904.

Rating Definition:

Good with dark brown patina on the iron, aged patina on the furniture, some minor cracks and flakes in the wood, and general mild wear appropriate to its age. Mechanically fine. The optics are mostly clear.
