Description:

Josiah Clutz was a Massillon, Ohio, gunsmith circa 1858 to 1866. Features a Remington cast steel barrel equipped with a false muzzle and long scope, "J. CLUTZ/MASSILLON. O" marked lock with scrollwork and border engraving, matching engraving on the trigger guard and other iron furniture, double set triggers, pewter forend cap, and smooth stock.

Rating Definition:

Very overall with dark brown patina on the barrel and scope, a mix of gray and brown patina on the other components, mild oxidation, general mild wear, wear on the wood between the lock and upper tang at the breech, scattered minor scratches and dings, and distinct engraving. The scope needs cleaning. Mechanically fine.
