The Kuchenreuter family were active primarily in Regensburg, Bavaria, from mid 17th century to the present. These mid-19th century pistols utilize barrels from the 18th century that have seven groove rifling a block mounted blade front sight, and silver inlaid patterns and "JACOB KUCHENREUTER" on top and Liege proofs. The breech plugs have the golden "I A/K" and horseman maker's mark (Johann Adam Kuchenreuter), adjustable notch sights, and floral scroll engraving. The floral scroll engraving patterns also extend to the furniture. They have single set triggers, hooked trigger guards, checkered wrists, and fittings for mounting the included shoulder stock which has coordinating engraving. They come in an oak case with close fitted interior holding the pistols, and matching accessories including a ladle, the stock, a tool for opening the stock key slots, screwdriver, nipple wrench, bullet mold, brass and wood rods, and a wooden cap/patch container.
