Coin finished side lock with extensive foliate engraving, bird dog engraved on the underside, engraved mallard marsh scene on the left lock, engraved pheasant scene on the right lock, action signed "JOHN RIGBY", gold inlaid "1" on the engraved break lever, double triggers, rolled edge trigger guard engraved to match, and tang mounted automatic safety with "SAFE" in gold. Nicely figured walnut semi-pistol grip stock with multi-point checkering, push button forend release with engraved hardware signed "ACTUAL GUNMAKER/T.A. SMITH" and gold inlaid "1", blank gold initial oval, and checkered bare butt. Comes with a large oak and leather case with leather John Rigby trade label on the inside and holding both the shotgun, rifle and full complement of accessories. Bore and stock measurements (R/L): chambers proved and measured at 2 3/4 inches; bores 9 inches from the breech proved at .729 and measured at .729/.727; chokes measured at .040/.040; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 3/8 inches; length of pull 15 1/2 inches; weight 7 lbs. 9 oz.

Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish showing limited handling evidence, repaired chip on forearm and crisp stock checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is excellent showing some minor handling/storage marks.

SMITH" engraved on the underside, no sight provisions, double thin gold inlaid bands at the muzzle and breech, gold inlaid arrow towards the muzzle and additional floral engraved embellishment at the breech. London nitro proofs dated to 1997 on the barrel under stock. Bright receiver profusely engraved with foliate scrollwork with hind head on top, matching engraved quick release scope mounts with gold inlaid "2" on the front ring, and Burris 2-7x scope. Trigger guard, floorplate and compartment grip cap engraved to match, gold inlaid "2" on the trigger guard, and highly detailed engraved stag and "4 CARTdgs" on the floorplate. Nicely figured 14 1/4 inch pistol grip stock with multi-point checkering, horn forend cap, cheekpiece, blank gold initial oval and solid recoil pad.
