The accompanying factory letter lists this revolver with the desirable 6 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish and checkered walnut gold medallion grips when shipped on November 3, 1915, and delivered to Hercules Powder Co., Wilmington, Delaware presumably for testing purposes. Hercules Powder Co., was established following the breakup of the Du Pont explosive monopoly by the U.S. Circuit Court in 1911, a major supplier of U.S. military smokeless powder, became Hercules, Inc. in 1966 and merged into Ashland Inc. in 2008. The trigger guard is boldly marked "HPCo." for Hercules Powder Co. Matching numbers are on the butt, right grip panel, cylinder and ejector shroud. An extremely high condition Triple Lock with a provenance and shipping history that just can't be beat!

Excellent, retaining 97% original blue and casehardened finishes showing mild muzzle and high edge wear, cylinder drag line and minor handling marks. The grips are fine with minor handling marks mostly on the bottoms and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
