This finely engraved Remington Model 8 features full coverage scroll and scalloped border engraving set against punch dot backgrounds on the receiver with gold inlaid animal heads on the sides, featuring a bear on the right, and a deer on the left. The barrel has 3 inch wedges of fine scroll forward of the breech, and light engraving around the barrel markings. With dovetailed beaded blade front and adjustable rear notch sights. Nicely figured, fancy checkered forearm and straight grip stock with inset silver initial plate, and unmarked, checkered hard rubber buttplate. Includes tooled leather takedown case with silver plated fittings.

Fine. 60% plus faded original blue finish remains with areas of some mild edge wear, scattered light surface scratches, crisp engraving, and bold gold inlays. The refinished wood is fine with attractive grain and figure, moderately worn, though well defined checkering, and small dings throughout. Mechanically excellent. Case is fine with sharp tooled designs, moderate tarnish on the fittings, and small scuffs.
