One of the finer regular products of the Remington Custom Shop, the Premier Grade represents about 80 hours worth of an expert engraver's time, entirely apart from the wood work and the precise hand fitting of the components. While not officially permitted to sign their work, the Custom Shop engravers were often seen to hide their initials in the game scenes. Unfortunately, none of the usual hiding places are initialed on this example, so we do not know who executed the very fine bulino style game scenes on this shotgun. Dual bead sights on the vent rib, with a screw-in choke tube, 2 3/4 inch chamber, and a set of 3 1/2 inch wedges of punch-dot backed scroll engraving at the breech. Coverage of the receiver is 90% plus, much of the surface being covered in scroll work and punch-dots, with similar accents on the bolt and trigger guard. Each side of the receiver bears a set of three game scenes in the nigh-photorealistic "bulino" method, with a pair of hunting dogs in a field scene at center and a game bird taking flight on either side. The initials "J/T" are gold inlaid into the trigger guard, with the initials "JT1" applied by hand to the left side of the receiver and stamped on the underside of the barrel. The forearm and stock are both finely checkered fancy walnut, with a Remington gripcap and a serrated buttplate.

Excellent, with 98% plus original blue finish, showing some light handling marks on the metal and wood. The engraving is all crisp and exceptionally well executed, and the wood shows sharp checkering and attractive grain. Mechanically excellent.
