This is an exceptional example of an early WWII desirable single digit serial number "3y" Mauser Banner Police Luger pistol rig with desirable "Eagle/L" Police proof. These single digit serial number Lugers have always commanded high interest with collectors that result in high prices. The top of the chamber area is stamped "1941" for the year of manufacture with the large Mauser/Banner logo on the front toggle. The standard "Eagle/L" Police proof is stamped on the right side of the receiver with the Nazi "Eagle/N" commercial proofmarks stamped on the left side of the receiver and the breechblock. The full serial number "3y" is stamped on the front of the frame with "3" stamped on all the remaining parts to include both magazines. The pistol has a salt blue finish and checkered walnut grips. This beautiful Police Luger rig is complete with two original all blue matching Police magazines. The magazines bodies are marked "fxo/Eagle/37" and "P08" and the pinned aluminum bases are marked "1/3" and "2/3" respectively. It is complete with outstanding late production black leather Police holster that is marked on the back "A. FISCHER/BERLIN C.2/1941/Police Eagle" proofmark.
Excellent plus with 98% of the original blue finish overall with light holster wear visible on side plate and left muzzle area. The grips are also excellent with nice distinct checkering on both sides, showing only some minor handling marks. The holster is very fine overall with clear sharp markings, nice tight stitching, and only minor wear on the leather mixed with some minor age cracking in some areas. This exceptional Luger rig has all matching numbers as noted to include the two Police magazines. A high condition Police Luger rig with the extremely desirable single digit serial number "3y".
