This rifle appears to be an early 1990s prototype of a model that was never actually released by Winchester. The rifle is entirely unmarked apart from the experimental serial number "EXP100" which is crudely marked on the right side of the receiver. It features no sights, drilled and tapped receiver, box magazine, trigger safety, and mounted with a nicely figured smooth pistol grip stock with a Browning vented recoil pad. There is a Winchester Arms Research & Test Laboratory tag attached to the trigger guard describing the project as experimental and requested by Bill Saari in 1991/92 and the description listed as "Bob Greenleaf Gun Model 220 HPBA (High Power Bolt Action)" in 300 Win. Mag. This is the first time this rare experimental prototype has been available to the public. The included FN America Certificate of Provenance identifies the rifle by model and serial number, stating that is was previously a part of the Winchester Factory Collection where it was maintained by U.S. Repeating Arms.
