This carbine appears to be one of the last factory prototypes before the public release of the Model 94AE Big Bore in .444 Marlin. The Winchester 94 marked barrel is also crudely marked "444 CAL". The receiver is only marked with the factory experimental serial number "22524EXP" and is tapped for scope mounts. There is an "Arms Research & Test Laboratory" tag stating the model, caliber, and serial number of the carbine. The included FN America Certificate of Provenance identifies the carbine by model and serial number, stating that it was previously a part of the Winchester Factory Collection where it was maintained by U.S. Repeating Arms.

Excellent overall, retains 99% plus original blue finish with only the slightest handling marks and still with factory grease. Mechanically excellent.
