This carbine appears to have all the standard markings and features of the Model 9422 carbines that were released to the public, however, it bears the unique, previously unreleased serial number "CRF2M". It is possible that this is one of the final prototypes before the commercial release of this model. The included FN America Certificate of Provenance identifies the carbine by model and serial number, stating that it was previously a part of the Winchester Factory Collection where it was maintained by U.S. Repeating Arms.
