The lock is smooth brass with an iron arm, and the stock has a branded marking on the underside, two stamps behind a copper mon emblem on top of the wrist, and a long iron trigger guard. The mon is an arrangement of four square "nail pullers"; arrangements of four pullers are associated with the Uda Genji, the descendants of the Emperor Uda, with the particular arrangement associated with the Rokkaku samurai clan.
