Manufactured from the late 1870s to 1880s. This example has features a rare and extensive factory floral and scroll engraving with a nautical themed panel scene on the left side plate. The serial number is on the butt, and the assembly number "6713" is on the grip frame, right grip panel, cylinder and barrel. It has the two-line H&A address/patent dates marking on the rib, loading gate, two-line MH&Co. address on the left side of the frame, "38 CAL" on the right side of the frame and dog head embossed grips.
