These single nickel mounted and engraved spurs are attributed to Wallie Boone of San Angelo, Texas, a member of the famous Boone family of spur makers, all of whom were distant descendants of the famous Daniel Boone. This pair are nearly identical to a pair of "Arizona Gila Monster Specials" on p. 2 of Wallie Boone catalog No. 2, only lacking the tapered heel band. The straight heel bands show floral pattern zig-zag engraving with swinging buttons and drop shanks with chap guards and spoked rowels. The leather straps are unmarked and stamped with a floral pattern. Very good, showing mostly bright finish mixed with scattered light patches of brown and grey patina, some scattered light pitting, and some minor handling marks/wear consistent with use. The leather straps show some mild wear, scattered light cracking, and crisp stamping.
