Attractive Klapper Marked No. 423S Pattern Single Mounted Spurs with Leather Straps

Billy Klapper is one of the few spur makers still alive making spurs in the old tradition, having learned from legendary makers such as Adolph Bayers. For much of his career Klapper managed to make roughly 200 pairs of spurs a year, with high demand leading to waiting times of a year or more for orders to be filled. These wait times along with Klapper's masterful skill have led to his spurs becoming highly desirable. This pair are single mounted in nickel and copper with floral designs. Both spurs are marked "KLAPPER" and "423/S" near the medial buttons. They have swinging buttons and short gal-leg shanks ending in toothed rowels. The Bob Anderson made straps are stamped with a basket weave pattern and have matching Klapper buckles. Heel band width: 7/8" Shanks: 1 3/4" Rowel diameter: 1 1/8" Heel opening: 3 3/8".

ConditionExcellent overall, showing mostly a bright patina with some very scattered grey patina and very minimal wear. The leather shows very minimal wear.
