The action is based on the Tanner system and has a sliding safety ahead of the integral peep sight base on the upper tang (peep absent). The barrel has a ramped and winged post front sight, textured top flat, the caliber designation on the left and mounting rib on the breech section for fitting a scope or rear sight, and "10.10" proof date, the matching serial number, and "BUG" proofs on the bottom. The action has traditional black leaf and crosshatch engraving patterns accenting the games scenes which depict a pair of battling red stags on the right and a pair of roe deer on the left, each in a detailed scene. The upper left has the serial number, and "crown/B" and "crown/U" proofs are on the right. It is equipped with double set triggers, a Schnabel tip forearm, and checkered pistol grip buttstock with large cheekpiece, horn cap and steel buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 70% plus original blue finish on the barrel, crisp engraving and a blend of original case colors and dark patina on the action, lighter gray patina on the buttplate, and mild overall wear. The wood is very good with chipping and a repair at the rear of the forearm, mild edge wear, mostly crisp checkering, a small blemish under the cheekpiece, and various minor scrapes and dings. Mechanically fine.
