Description:

This is fine example of a post WWI Tanner single shot Schuetzen rifle. This version used a slightly scaled down action with a swinging breech block. It has a 31 inch full tapered octagon barrel with the slightly raised, rear quarter rib. The right side is lightly engraved with the barrel makers name; "EMEIL KERNER SEN" the left side is also marked "SUHL" and "BOHLER". The barrel, receiver and breech block all have the standard prewar Crown over B.U.G proof marks and the barrel is dated 8/28. The receiver has been lightly engraved with a very small, diminutive style scroll pattern, on both sides, with a single border line around the edge with a cross-hatched pattern on top. The barrel is fitted with a set of standard Schuetzen style sights that consist of a ramp front sight with the traditional protective ears and a pin head bead front sight. It has an adjustable, barrel mounted target type rear sight. The underside of the barrel and the rear underside of the stock are fitted with the narrow sling swivels. It is fitted with the standard removable double set trigger assembly with the Spring latch finger lever. It has a traditional Tyrolean style buttstock with a thumb rest on the right side and the single prong, cast iron buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine overall as refinished (stock) with 99% blue on the barrel and 75% case color on the action. The buttstock has been lightly freshened with some stock finish added on the sides mixed with some light handling marks. The checkered areas are in good checkering and some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
