Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum (Pre-Model 29) Double Action Revolver with Factory Letter

The accompanying factory letter lists this revolver with the desirable 5-screw frame, 6 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish and Goncalo Alves target grips (currently walnut) when shipped to Ray's Sporting Goods Co., Scotch Plains, New Jersey. Matching numbers on the butt, cylinder, and ejector shroud.

ConditionExcellent, retaining 95% plus original blue finish on frame and barrel with loss at the sides of the muzzle, small scuff marks and some light freckling on side plate. The cylinder is refinished. Nearly all original case colors remain. The non-original grips are fine with chips at the back strap, minor handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
