As confirmed by the accompanying factory letter, this revolver was shipped on November 17, 1919, and delivered to Douglas B. Wesson, the future vice president of Smith & Wesson, the company his grandfather Daniel B. Wesson co-founded. The letter also confirms the 4 inch barrel, blue finish and checkered extension walnut square butt grips. With the letter is a factory record serial number confirmation certificate for this revolver signed by noted S&W historian Roy Jinks. Matching serial numbers are on the butt, right grip panel, cylinder and barrel. Comes with the original factory box hand numbered and signed "D.B. Wesson" in pencil on the bottom, bore brush, S&W target and Douglas Wesson's personalized matchbook marked "D. WESSON."
