This is an excellent example of a fully automatic M16A1 carbine that was manufactured by the Colt Firearms Division. These original Colt fully automatic M16 series of rifles and carbines are very desirable as they were produced exactly as their military counterpart using the same military grade, factory original parts. They were given their own special serial number designation in the 9 million range. This example was produced as a Colt M16A1 carbine with a 14.5 inch chrome lined barrel, the tear drop shaped forward assist, and the two position flip rear sight. It has the correct fully auto bolt and bolt carrier both "C" marked. The barrel is stamped: "C MP B", and the magazine well is marked "COLT/M16A1/CAL. 5.56 MM./9270217" and "COLT FIREARMS DIVISION/COLT INDUSTRIES/HARTFORD CONN./U.S.A." next to the three-position "SAFE/SEMI/AUTO" selector. It is fitted with the late style two position sliding buttstock with the short round forend.

Excellent with 97% plus of the original anodized/parkerized finishes overall showing light edge and high spot wear with evidence of firing. The handguards and buttstock are both also in excellent condition showing minor handling marks. A scarce original Colt M16A1 carbine. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
