Description:

Manufactured in 1876 as a third model with the serial number stamped in block numerals behind the trigger. The sights consists of a blade integral to the front barrel band and two leaf rear sight. A saddle ring is mounted on the left side of the brass receiver. The bolt remains in its original rimfire configuration. The carbine stock is fitted with a trapdoor brass buttplate. Comes with a three piece cleaning rod. The '66 secured Winchester's place in the annals of the West and launched a long line of successful Winchester lever actions that remain popular to this day and still retain the basic form of the '66.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus. The barrel and magazine tube have a smooth dark brown patina. The brass has an attractive patina. The wood is also very good with a couple hairline stress cracks at the tangs and minor-moderate dings and scratches. The lever lacks tension to remain parallel with the lower tang, otherwise mechanically excellent.
