Fine Civil War U.S. Remington New Model Army Percussion Revolver

Approximately 122,000 of these New Model Army revolvers were manufactured from 1863-1875. These revolvers became one of the most used revolvers during the Civil War, particularly after the fire at Colt's factory. It has standard markings, including government inspection marks and matching serial numbers on the barrel, cylinder, trigger guard, frame, and grip panels (in pencil). The front sight has been replaced during the period of usage with a dovetailed blade.

ConditionFine overall with 50% original blue finish concentrated on the barrel and rear of the frame, smooth gray and brown patina on the balance, light oxidation and pitting, generally distinct markings, and mild edge wear. The grips are very fine with crisp cartouche. Mechanically fine.
