Description:

Ray Anderson began making spurs in the 1970s, numbering each pair starting at "1". It is estimated that he made just over 1,500 pairs during his career, making them quite collectible. The blued heel bands have swinging buttons and are single mounted with lightly engraved silver and copper, semi-gooseneck shanks ending in five-leaf clover rowels. The tooled leather straps show a basket weave pattern. Heel band width: 7/8" Shanks: 2" Rowel diameter: 1 1/8" Heel opening: 3 3/8".

Rating Definition:

Fine, showing about half of the original blue finish and age darkened copper and silver mountings with the balance a smooth grey patina and some scattered light oxidation. The leather straps are very fine with some light wear.
