A) U.S. Colt Army Model 1903 Double Action Revolver

Description:

Manufactured in 1904. The barrel underside has "P" and "K" inspector marks. The left side of the frame has "K.S.M.", "L.E.B.", and "J.E.H." inspector marks and "1904". Standard Army markings and lanyard ring on the butt. Matching numbers or partial numbers on butt, frame, crane, and cylinder latch. Collection marking in white on the bottom of the trigger guard protected by varnish.

Rating Definition:

Fine overall, retains 70% plus original blue finish with the balance a smooth grey patina and light-minor dings and scratches scattered throughout including the grips. The cylinder spins freely counter-clockwise with the hammer down, otherwise mechanically fine. Grips are very good replacements.

Description:

One of 1,000 manufactured to fulfill the Navy's first contract for these revolvers which was delivered in 1900. It shows standard markings and features including the Navy markings and number on the butt: "U.S.N./anchor/38 D.A./arrow through S/No/169/C.A.B." Frame and crane are both marked "2367. Collection marking in white on the bottom of the trigger guard protected by varnish.

Rating Definition:

Fine, retains 60% plus original blue finish with the balance a mottled brown-grey patina with numerous scattered minor dings and scratches throughout consistent with use. The grips are very good with mostly crisp checkering and scattered dings and handling marks throughout. Mechanically excellent.
