Description:

Manufactured in the early 20th Century by one of the most desirable Western spur makers, Kelly Bros. The company was started by P.M. Kelly, who made his first pair of spurs in 1903. This example were manufactured in the early 1900s, likely before World War I, during a short collaboration between Kelly and Clyde Parker. This partnership ended in 1919. The pair are marked "K.B.&P." near the lateral buttons. The upturned heel bands are single nickel mounted with lightly engraved designs and feature straight ornate shanks ending in spoked rowels. Provenance: Joe Flores. Heel band width: 1/2" Shanks: 2 1/4" Rowel diameter: 1 5/8" Heel opening: 3 3/8".

Rating Definition:

Fine overall, showing mostly a smooth brown patina and bright mountings with some scattered minor pitting and light oxidation.
