A mid-WWII evolution and refinement of early magazine carrier designs, the Type III pouches could be worn as a single item (typically enlisted men) or as a pair (typically by NCOs and paratroopers), three magazines to a side with the magazine loader in a pouch on the left hand side. This is a set of two (shoulder strap not included), dark canvas construction with black leather reinforcement and metal hardware, marked with a faint white swastika on the back of the right side pouch. All six included magazines are marked "M.P.38u.40", indicating their compatibility with both models of German sub-machine gun, and the loading tool has similar markings, plus "ghn 40" and "WaAC10" stamps for Ullrich Metalwaren of Zella Mehlis.
