Description:

This is a beautiful example of a 1906 "First Issue" Navy Commercial Luger. These first issue pistols are extremely rare as only 2,500 total were made before WWI with 99% of them reworked/rebarreled after WWI to comply with the Versailles treaty. This specific pistol, still in its original unaltered condition, retains the original "GESICHERT" safety markings in the lower position and has no military proofs. It has the characteristic Navy six-inch barrel, the two-position (100 and 200 meter) rear sight, grip safety, stock lug and wooden magazine base with concentric circles on the side. The top of the chamber is blank, and the toggle lug bears the DWM scroll. The left side of the barrel extension has a single "crown/N" proof, which is repeated on the underside of the barrel and the left side of the breechblock and toggle. It has the correct "GELADEN" marking on the left side of the extractor. It is complete with one early nickel plated magazine with an unnumbered wooden base with the correct concentric Navy circles on the sides.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall with 97% plus of the original blued finish with only minor edge and high spot wear overall. The various small parts retain 75% of their original straw colors. The grips are also in excellent condition with crisp checkering on both sides. The pistol has all matching numbers with an unnumbered firing pin. An exceptionally rare early DWM Model 1906 Naval Commercial Luger in original condition.
