European Flintlock Musket

It has the general pattern of a French "Charleville" musket, but the barrel is .75 caliber rather than .69. Composite muskets with combinations of British "Brown Bess," American made, and French "Charleville" parts are known to have been assembled and used by American rebel forces during the Revolution. It has a bayonet stud on the bottom near the muzzle, blade front sight on the top of the upper barrel band at the front, sling swivels on the middle band and through a stud in the trigger guard finial, unclear lock marking, and a collection marking on the trigger guard.

ConditionGood as reconverted to flintlock configuration with a blend of brown finish and dark brown patina, mild pitting concentrated at the vent and lock, tool marks, spliced forend (concealed under the middle band), mild scrapes, chipping above the lock and slight gaps at its edges, and moderate overall wear. Mechanically fine.
