Description:

Manufactured in Wadsworth, Medina County, Ohio. Given the small caliber and 13 3/8 inch length of pull, this well-built and no-frills rifle might have been specifically made for use by a boy for hunting squirrels and other small game. It has traditional blade and notch sights, "D. WALTZ" on top behind the rear sight, partially visible barrel maker's mark on the left at the breech, blank lock, adjustable double set triggers, a pewter forend cap, brass furniture, and nicely shaped walnut stock.

Rating Definition:

Very good overall with an attractive "out of the attic" appearance. The barrel has a blend of fading original brown finish and dark patina, mottled dark gray and brown patina on the lock, some minor oxidation/pitting, smooth aged patina on the brass, some faint hairline cracks and slivers absent in the otherwise smooth and lightly hand worn stock, and general minor marks and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
