Description:

Only 5,700 of these rifles were originally manufactured in 1830-1836 but relatively few of them have survived. Unlike the Harpers Ferry Model 1819 rifles manufactured in 1832-1840, North used band springs on all of his Hall rifles. It has standard off-set sights, "U.S./S. NORTH/MIDLTN/CONN/1832" on the breechblock, a "N.W.PATCH" cartouche on the left, and a removable collection mark on the trigger guard. Includes a "US/SN" marked socket bayonet.

Rating Definition:

Very good, showing a mixture of original brown lacquer with patches of bright metal and brown patina, and patches of mild pitting, some partially obscuring markings. The wood is fine with minor dings and scratches throughout, some minor chips, and a clear cartouche. Mechanically excellent. The bayonet is fair showing a grey patina and moderate pitting.
