One of the Model 1816 muskets manufactured by Springfield Armory, this example shows mostly Type II features including the browned finish and riveted trigger guard. However, the trigger guard shows the later ball-shaped reinforcement added to the front of the bow. It shows standard markings and features with the replaced lock dated "1829" and the barrel tang dated "1826". Removable collection mark on the trigger guard. Includes a socket bayonet and leather sheath.
