Description:

The Model 1819 Hall was the first widely issued military breech loading firearm and the first firearm manufactured with totally interchangeable parts. This is one of 1,000 produced for the U.S. in 1826. This one is dated "1826" on the breech block. It otherwise has the standard markings and features of the second production type with a removable collection mark on the trigger guard. Includes a socket bayonet.

Rating Definition:

Fine, showing mostly brown lacquer finish thinning to grey patina in a few areas. The lightly sanded and reoiled wood is very good with some scattered minor dings and a few minor repairs. Mechanically excellent. The bayonet is very good showing mostly a bright grey patina and some mild pitting.
