It has a bayonet stud on top near the muzzle, brass blade front sight on the rear of the upper barrel band, small inspection markings, "55" and "P/eagle head/V" on the breech, "1838" on the barrel tang, "1838" dated lock with standard markings, "ABC" on the trigger guard finial and "ABC 1" on the tip of the forend, collection marking on the trigger guard bow, "ET" cartouche on the left flat, "M.K." and an "AH" cartouche by the trigger guard tang, "US" marked buttplate and locking socket bayonet, and leather bayonet scabbard with brass fittings.
Fine with mostly light gray patina, darker patina on the lock, smooth refreshed oil finish on the otherwise very fine stock, some minor dings and scratches, mostly crisp markings, and light overall wear. The bayonet has mottled patina and light oxidation. The scabbard has some crackling. Mechanically excellent.
