Standard markings, lock plate and barrel tang dated "1850". Collection marking in white under varnish on the bottom of the trigger guard. Includes an unmarked M1855 pattern saber bayonet with leather sheath and an ordnance stamped reproduction leather sling.

Rating Definition:

Very good, showing traces of the blended, refinished brown finish on the barrel and attractive aged patina on the fine original brass with some spotting and the balance a smooth brown or grey patina. The lightly sanded and reoiled wood is also very good and has some scattered minor handling marks, a few minor chips and hairline cracks, and visible cartouches. Mechanically excellent. The bayonet is very good showing mostly bright blade and age darkened patina on the brass with the balance a grey patina.
