Description:

Originally ordered by the government of Russia in 1916, the Remington Nagant is a straight copy of the then-standard Tsarist military rifle. The outbreak of the Revolution forced Russia's withdrawal from World War I and prevented them from taking delivery of the rifles. Many were sold to the U.S. Army as training rifles, with some eventually making it to Russia in the hands of the American Expeditionary Force sent to keep the Bolsheviks out of power. Blade front and folding ladder rear sight, with Tsar Nicolas II's Imperial Eagle on the barrel and receiver, 1917 date, and matching numbers on the bolt and floorplate. Smooth straight wrist stock with a 1917 dated crest on the right side and a faint "(ordnance bomb)/U.S." stamp ahead of the magazine.

Rating Definition:

Excellent showing 98% of the original blue finish with some light handling marks and areas of brown patina. The stock is also excellent, with a few deep scratches ahead of the trigger guard and mild dings. Mechanically excellent.
