This revolver is one of only 15 special order New Frontier Models produced in 1962 and 1963 with special order serial numbers below 3000NF, where standard production began. Serial number 3000NF was retained by the factory, 3001NF was presented to a Colt vice president, and 3002NF-3005NF were never produced, making 3006NF the first of standard production released to the public, and anything below it exceedingly rare. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration as well as shipment to Franklin Park, Illinois on 19 March 1963 in a two gun shipment. Also included is the correct Colt gold box and a plain cardboard sleeve hand numbered to the gun. Test target numbered to gun is in box.
