Description:

Manufactured circa 1894. Round blade front and frame notch rear sights with a smooth trigger, checkered hammer and cylinder latch, standard two-line address and patent marking on top of the barrel, and caliber designation on the left. The frame, barrel, cylinder, and butt of the left grip panel are all stamped with "RAC" (Rinaldo A. Carr) inspection marks with matching partial "776" serial numbers on the barrel, latch, crane, and frame. There is a faint illegible 1894 dated cartouche on the left grip, and "RAC" on right panel. The left side of the frame has been stamped "NJ" just below the cylinder. There is a small removable collection marking on the trigger guard.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. 70% plus original Colt polished commercial blue finish remains with areas of edge and high point wear, surface scratches and nicks throughout, and a mostly mottled brown/gray patina on the grip straps. The grips are fine with small dings and bruises and light, legible markings. Mechanically excellent.
