This is an outstanding all original WWII Winchester manufactured M1 Garand rifle produced circa 1944. This rifle is absolutely all original and appears to have not been issued. It has all its original Winchester parts with the same correct late production matching factory green parkerized finish. The right side of the receiver is stamped with drawing number "D28291-2" and the barrel is correctly marked on the right side with the Winchester circled "WP" proof followed by a single punch dot proof mark and three letters. The breech is partially in the white with the very outer ring parkerized with the inter area in the white correctly as it should be as Winchester parkerized their barrel while on the receivers. The barrel is fitted with the original late Winchester pattern, wide-base gas cylinder with the round top gas cylinder lock, both correctly with their du-lite blue finish with a single slot gas plug. The bolt is marked: "D28287-1 W.R.A."; the uncut operating rod is marked: "D35382 W.R.A.". It is also fitted with its original late production all original Winchester trigger group with the parts marked as follows, trigger housing "D28290-W.R.A."; milled trigger guard "C46025 W.R.A."; hammer "C-46008-1 W.R.A.", safety "W.R.A.-1", hammer spring guide without wings. Internally it has a "13" stamped follower and slide with an "A" marked recoil spring guide. It has the correct rear sight with the square end locking bar on the windage knob, with the "open arrows" on the elevation knob. It is fitted with its original Winchester walnut handguard set and buttstock. It has a smooth spring clip on the rear handguard with the oval pattern Winchester middle barrel band with the original solid cross pin still in place. The stock has an original boxed "WRA/GHD" and crossed cannon cartouches/proofs on the left side with a circled "P" proof in the pistol grip area. The buttplate has the correct raised, checkering pattern with the smooth outer edge with the sharp edge on the trap door found on Winchester manufactured buttplates. Includes cleaning kit.

Excellent plus, as issued, with 99% of the original WWII Winchester parkerized finish overall. The sock and handguard set is also on excellent plus condition with no visible handling marks, and clear sharp cartouches and proof marks. Mechanically excellent.
