Description:

This is an excellent example of a late WWII M1 carbine that was manufactured in 1944, as part of the second Winchester serial block. It has the standard receiver markings with the heel marked "WINCHESTER/5829271" and the correct undated circled "W/P" marked Winchester produced barrel with the unmarked blade front sight. It has the correct late war Winchester green parkerized metal finish with the various blued components, such as the flat bolt and smaller trigger parts. It is fitted with a type two barrel band without the bayonet lug, late war, stamped adjustable rear sight, "W" marked stock plate, unmarked milled trigger housing, unmarked push button safety and magazine catch. It is fitted with a low wood walnut, stock, with a very early two rivet "W" marked handguard with the deep sight radius. The right side of the stock is stamped with the U.S. Ordnance Dept., crossed cannon cartouche followed by WRA/GHD" final inspection cartouche. With a green canvas sling. Magazine absent.

Rating Definition:

Excellent condition with 98% of the original parkerized finish overall with only a hint of wear on the right receiver rail from hand cycling the action. The stock and hand are also in excellent condition with no handling marks anywhere with crisp cartouches and proofs. Mechanically excellent. An exceptionally nice late war Winchester M1 Carbine.
