This pistol was handcrafted by "Dean of American Arms Engravers" Alvin A. White and is signed "AAW" in script on top of the rifled barrel just ahead of the notch rear sight. The barrel also has a German silver blade front sight and scroll engraving. The interesting lock has scroll engraving on the tail and a bestial engraved hammer. The side plate has a Native American smoking a pipe reclined against a tree trunk and scrollwork at the rear. Some of the other German silver furniture has scroll or floral engraving, and the trigger guard has a pineapple finial. The trigger has an attractive pierced scroll design. The stock is nicely figured curly maple.

Rating Definition:

Very fine overall with attractive antiqued style blue/brown along the barrel and some light spotting patterns, gray and strong case colors on the lock, smooth lightly aged patina on the German silver, crisp marking and engraving, smooth finish on the stock which a has a slight green-brown tint commonly found on 1960s and 1970s muzzle loaders, and a few minor scratches and marks. Mechanically fine.
