Description:

Manufactured in China in 1967, with fixed sights, three-symbol nomenclature on top of the slide, "66" factory number on the frame, and a set of ribbed grips with star imprints. The grips are properly free of "CCCP" markings seen on Soviet Union examples, and the pistol has not been retrofitted with a safety. Matching numbers are present on the frame, slide, barrel, and hammer group, with the magazine numbered "9331". Also included is an original Vietnam War North Vietnamese belt rig consisting of a rubberized and leather holster, and a rubberized pistol belt with 1965 dated NVA star buckle and rubberized shoulder strap, with alloy and brass hardware. A pair of July 1969 dated War Trophy Firearms Registration Forms (DD-603) are included, identifying this pistol by serial number as having been taken by USMC Lance Corporal John D. Gingrich of Headquarters Company, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. One notes the time of acquisition as about August 1968 to September 1969, and the other also calls out an "NVA Holster" with the pistol.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with 25% of the original blue finish. Much of the surface has turned a mixed brown and gray, with areas of shallow pitting, edge wear, and handling marks. The grips are very fine with some light dings and scratches and the holster is very good with mild scuffs, cracks, and stains. Mechanically excellent.
