This is a very fine example of a WWII German G43 rifle as manufactured in 1944 at the Berlin-Lubecker Machine Factory that has the wartime code of "duv". The left side of the receiver is marked with a single "eagle/214" Waffenamt proof followed by "4873h G.43 duv 44.". It has the late war rough cast receiver with the cast bolt cover with the reinforcing web, the hollow cocking knob on the left side and bolt hold-open latch on the right. It is also fitted with a blued, stamped action cover. It has a standard dovetailed blade, front sight with the military tangent rear sight graduated to 1200 meters. The pistol grip stock and handguard are the correct wartime laminated versions, that is serial numbered on the underside "873" along with two light "eagle/214" Waffenamt proofs on the right side of the buttstock. It is fitted with a late war K43 sniper scope and mount. The mount is not serial numbered and is only stamped with a single "eagle/359" directly over the locking lever. The mount is fitted with a WWII ZF4 scope that is marked "GW ZF 4/31648/ddx" and "K43". The scope includes a original rubber eye piece, a set of scope covers (wooden plug and leather cap), a rain shield, both lens covers, a fiber board scope box and two unmarked G43 magazine pouches. The rifle comes with a sheet metal front sight cover and cleaning rod. It also includes an original field manual and spare part kit in the butt trap. Consignor stated that this rifle was taken out the factory with field manual and spare parts in the butt.
